If you dream of full, well-groomed eyebrows, you've probably encountered two different solutions: brow lamination and permanent makeup (also known as micropigmentation or microblading). Both promise beautiful brows, but they are very different. Let's take an honest look at the differences so you can choose what's right for you.
What's the difference?
Brow lamination works with your own hairs. The hairs are softened, set into the desired shape, and fixed. No pigment under the skin, no needles. The result is a fuller, tidier look that lasts for weeks and then naturally grows out.
Permanent makeup means that pigment is inserted into the skin (with a needle or blade) to draw the shape of the eyebrows or imitate hairs. The result is semi-permanent and remains as pigment in the skin for months to years.

An honest comparison
Durability. Lamination lasts about 4–6 weeks. Permanent makeup usually lasts 1–3 years. If you're looking for something very long-lasting, permanent makeup is more durable – but it's also a much bigger and more irreversible decision.
Reversibility. Lamination is completely reversible – if you don't like the result, it grows out in a couple of months and you're back to square one.
